Clean Pharmacy Technicians Needed

May 27th, 2010 by admin

Every time I hear about a messed up thing like a pharmacy tech stealing pills or somehow changing a dosage for someone to get extra out of what has been prescribed I am saddened. This does not bode well for the industry, and just goes to show why it is a major responsibility to keep yourself free from any shame that might be brought upon you for not following the rules.

Just recently a pharmacy technician in Dutchess County which or to be more specific, the town of Dover was arrested for stealing pills from a CVS she was working at. She was most likely selling these to clients she had on the side of her job, but this is no excuse to become unprofessional about a job in which peoples lives are in the balance.

According to police, 21-year-old pharmacy technician Kaitlyn Cassidy was arrested because she was caught by police stealing well over 10,000 pills of hydrocodone. She will be charged with felony third-degree grand larceny, and will reappear in court around mid-June to receiver her sentence.

This is the very reason that we need good pharmacy technicians to get the job done right. This lady was a lead tech and still got herself in trouble. Honesty is the best policy.
